Land Acknowledgement

With deep reverence, I acknowledge that my office and home is located on the ancestral and unceded traditional territories of The Jumanos, the Coahuitlecan, the Nʉmʉnʉʉ Sookobitʉ (Comanche), the Ndé Kónitsąąíí Gokíyaa (Lipan Apache), and the Tonkawa.

I acknowledge this as both gratitude to the Indigenous communities who have held and continue to hold relationship with this land for generations AND also in recognition of the historical and ongoing legacy of colonialism. Additionally, I acknowledge this as a point of reflection as I work towards actively dismantling colonial practices within my work and life.

I acknowledge the need to continue learning about, centering, honoring, and being mindful of this land and the Indigenous Peoples connected to it.

In my commitment to continue the work of decolonization—personally and as a business owner—I invest myself into ongoing decolonial education and practices. In addition, I’m committed to centering the voices and work of folks who are educating and leading the shift to decolonial ways of being.

I will evolve and update this acknowledgement as my decolonization learning and growth continues to unfold.

To write this acknowledgement, I have learned about, been inspired by, and adapted language from the Territory Acknowledgement Page at Native Land Digital, the land acknowledgement at Native Movement, and this guide at the Native Governance Center.
